German for Researchers

This course is for beginners with little or no prior knowledge of German. We will intensively learn the basics of German grammar and vocabulary for everyday situations. Listening to and speaking German are an important part of the course.  

This course progresses quickly and is aimed at people who are used to learning independently. In particular, the course is for academic stuff at the Max Planck Institutes, the university, and research institutions in Cyber Valley.

German for advanced learners: You are familiar with the most important basics of German grammar and can communicate in German. In this course, we will deepen our grammar knowledge and expand our vocabulary, express our opinions, discuss, talk about the past, our wishes and ideas.

This course progresses quickly and is particularly aimed at academic stuff at the Max Planck Institutes, the university, and research institutions in Cyber Valley who have completed level A2.

You feel relatively confident in German and can communicate well in German. In this course, we will supplement your grammar knowledge with more complex structures and focus on conversation and independent language use, as well as practicing writing.

This course progresses quickly and is particularly aimed at academic stuff at the Max Planck Institutes, the university, and research institutions in Cyber Valley who have completed level B1.

You have extensive experience with German, can understand complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics, and speak about them spontaneously. You are fluent enough to hold regular conversation with native speakers. In this course, we’ll discuss current topics, expand and deepen our vocabulary, and practice the finer points of German grammar.
