German B2/C1 - Welcome!

This course focuses on conversation and independent language use for participants with a good, advanced level of German.
We'll cover topics such as professional life, body awareness, stays abroad, infrastructure, and cities, and learn German idiomatic expressions. We'll practice word formation, the conditionals, and how to express assumptions using the future tense II. We'll also learn a lot about Germany and German-speaking countries.

We will cover family constellations, lifestyles, nutrition, advertising, studies, and education. We will practice word formation, learn reported speech, nouns with prepositions, and the subjective meaning of modal verbs. In addition to speaking a lot, we will also practice reading, writing, and listening.

In this course we want to speak a lot, use typical B2 vocabulary and learn and repeat important grammatical structures and practise these orally and in writing. As homework there are regular revision exercises.

This course has 8 places and takes place in presence at Vivat Lingua!

This course is part of a project supervised by the University of Tübingen. Anonymous data will be collected for a research project.

In this course, we'll discuss consumption, sustainability, social media, and technological developments, as well as current political and social issues in Germany.
Another focus is urban life: mobility, noise, accessibility, and the city of the future.
We'll also cover the German healthcare system - how it's organized, current and long-standing problems, and ethical issues in medicine. Personal experiences and impressions from hospital series are welcome.

Using texts from various media, we'll practice speaking and argumentation, and expand our vocabulary. We'll review important grammar topics at the B2/C1 level.
