German B2/C1 - Welcome!

This course focuses on conversation and independent language use for participants with a good, advanced level of German.
We will cover topics such as friendship and relationships, professional life, and the media in Germany. We will practice two-part connectors, the stative passive, word formation, and use the past and present participles as adjectives. Through listening to and watching photo reports, animated films, and educational films, we’ll impart modern cultural knowledge about German-speaking countries.

We'll cover topics such as professional life, body awareness, stays abroad, infrastructure, and cities, and learn German idiomatic expressions. We'll practice word formation, the conditionals, and how to express assumptions using the future tense II. We'll also learn a lot about Germany and German-speaking countries.

This course focuses on conversation and independent language use for participants with a good, advanced level of German.
We'll discuss services, advertising slogans, and health, and explore regional variations of German. We'll discover alternatives to the passive voice and practice indefinite pronouns and the participle. Authentic and interesting texts will be read and listened to.

In this course, we practice writing different types of texts, such as formal letters or creative texts, at the B2 level. We also review important grammatical structures and expand our vocabulary. There is regular homework involving writing. We correct the texts, look at typical mistakes, analyze them, and learn from them. 

This course has 8 places and takes place on-site at Vivat Lingua!

This course is part of a project supervised by the University of Tübingen. Anonymous data will be collected for a research project.

In this course, we'll discuss current topics extensively, expand and deepen our vocabulary, and practice the finer points of German grammar.

In this course, we'll discuss current topics extensively, expand and deepen our vocabulary, and practice the finer points of German grammar.

We learn and practice important text types for the C1 Level, which are needed for work, studies, C1 exams (e.g., telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule, TestDaf) and German in general: formal letters and emails, argumentations, descriptions of graphs, offers and reminders, creative texts, and more. In the course, we look at examples and learn important structures and vocabulary. There is a writing homework assignment for each session. We correct the texts, discuss typical errors, and practice the grammatical structures required for the C1 level. We also explore the style of the texts: How can you write well and appropriately at the C1 level? What distinguishes formal and informal texts? Which vocabulary is appropriate for which situation?
